Have you ever believed in fairies? Ever been told a story, well, that's not gonna change in this book review except that this is a whole confusing and crazy drama type of story. Small Persons With Wings is a fiction book. In my opinion, I feel that this book does have a lot of confusing and lots of frustrating events during the story even with the main character which her name is Mellie. **Spoiler Alert**

This book takes place in a family's old generation home. The main characters in the story are Mellie, Fidius (Mellie's small person with wings best friend ever since she was little), Mellie's parents, Timmo (the boy next door), and Mellie's grandfather, who is a clock. This story began as a girl named Mellie who had a best friend name Fidius, and he was not known as a fairy, but he was known as a "small person with wings" who had left Mellie when she was only in kindergarden. Mellie was picked on and bullied for a long time after making a huge mistake back in kindergarten. Mellie's family then moved and lived in a whole new neighborhood where Mellie's grandfather had lived after he died and Mellie attended to a new school. She figured that since nobody knew about her whole life story than nobody would tease her. One day, Mellie had found herself living with a fairy! Mellie became extremely upset that after all she had been through being bullied and made fun of had then ended up her mind knowing that fairies are real and she was actually living with one. There was then more fairies living in Mellie's family home in need of protection in order to keep their secret about not letting anyone know they were all real and staying for a while in the family's home and Mellie had finally learned after years that her family were fairy guardians for generations. In order to have the family protect the fairies, the fairies have given the family their magic and now they want it back which is a problem. Now and evil lady is trying to get the magic too and even tried to bribe Mellie into giving the magic to her. Luckily, Mellie had help from Timmo and Durindana (one of the fairies living in Mellie's home) in order to help her family and finally end the fairy trouble and then Mellie soon understood the importance of different views on people and to learn to be grateful to yourself and those in your life.

One part of the story that sounded very touching that the author wrote was, Fidius tired to be helpful. One time he fixed a hole in my jeans before my mom saw it, but the hole opened again ten minutes later. He said he was too lonely and too depressed to make the spell last. This scene is a very good understanding reason why Mellie and Fidius are such good friends and one of them help each other out no matter what as if both of them are brother and sister which shows that they are true friends. Having the tile of this book as "Small Persons With Wings" is such a funny statement because the tiny people with wings in this story hate to be called fairies. Mellie has known Fidius for a very long time since she was a little girl and both did almost everything together. One day, Mellie tells Fidius that she is planning to bring him to her kindergarten class for show and tell which causes Fidius to abandon Mellie which makes her very sad. This moment in this story really touched my emotions because having a best friend for a very long time abandon you and you don't even know why can break your heart which is what Mellie had then been through ever since Fidius had left her. Mellie's parents told her that Fidius wasn't real (and they knew they were lying in order to have her protected) which then developed Mellie to become and independent and intelligent young woman but was still treated badly in school by always being bullied and called "Fairy Fat" after not bringing Fidius to show and tell. This moment was sad because Mellie had then not believed in her imagination and never believed Fidius again which ruined her spirit throughout her life.

The best part that I thought was in the story was when Fidius had helped fix the hole in Mellie's jeans. The reason why is because not many people can do such kind small things for you and this moment helped me understand how much Fidius cared about Mellie in such a small helpful way. As I have heard in a quote before, "People will never know how far a little kindness can go".

I would rate "Small Persons With Wings" a 2. This book will be perfect for those have negative views of themselves and those who love a good adventure. One thing for sure is that you will have some emotions that will make you think, WHAT?! This type of book will make you have some shocking and funny heart warming moments.
