Not in money, but in sacrifice. With the help of friends and family, these two heroes go through incredible transformations and discover that what you see, is not always the truth.
The book The Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan is an breathtaking adventure in which two ordinary people are transformed into saviors of the world. If you like to read books on mythology, or just want to read a suspenseful, humorous, then this book would fit you. Every one of this book’s pages is filled to the brim with bits and pieces of Egyptian mythology. If you also enjoy adventures from the characters’ point of view, then you will most likely enjoy this book as well, as it offers the viewpoints of not one but two main characters.
What I found particularly enjoyable about this book is the fact that you can clearly see, like a person gazing through a window, at just how much and how fast Sadie and Carter Kane change from the origin of the book to the conclusion. At the beginning of the book Carter and Sadie Kane were strong and good at magic, but in the end, Carter and Sadie Kane gain more than just power, strength, and honor, they gain friends, leadership, and confidence.
This book also includes a section in the back with Egyptian terms and their meanings, a nice way to get introduced to a snippet of Egyptian mythology, language, and culture. Read this book for a fun, suspenseful, humorous, and enjoyable Egyptian journey. ...more "
