Yikes. My dad, born in Texas, would have been 10 years old at the time of the New London explosion. At this time he was living with his parennts and 4or 5 siblings (in Oklahoma. This was huge news at the time, Nationwide and Worldwide. Many of the Rescue efforts came from nearby Oklahoma. His own mother.my Grandmother was a teacher, before and after he was born. This tragedy would not have gone unnoticed or talked about by their family. I never heard him mention it. But we have a family historian, my dads youngest sister,who had not been born at the time. I'm betting she is somewhat familiar with.this sad sad event.
