Exclusion by those at the table doesn’t depend on willful intent; we don’t have to intend to exclude for the results of our actions to be exclusion.
Nor does it mean there is not a willful intent. The author does what has always been done in two ways, 1. Give white people the benefit of the doubt and wrap bad behavior in misunderstanding. Make learning comfortable at the risk of not learning.
