He was the one who chose her to take over Verity’s series, but I digress. After she moved to do her research, I started to question Jeremy, even though I too fell for him. Was Lowen being used truly for finishing this series or maybe she was being used to locate the manuscript.
Then there was the matter of Jeremy and Lowen’s relationship. RED FLAGS! Jeremy was all over Lowen despite his wide living under the same roof. He would go back and forth; being with Lowen to defending Verity. With defending Verity, was it because he loved her or maybe because he was guilty for his actions? Although, I don’t know why he would put it past Verity to fake being bed ridden and non-responsive if he read her manuscript. Also, why would Lowen do sexual acts that she read in a manuscript about a comatose woman and her husband? Biting the bed frame and riding his face? WOW!
But then we get to the end. Lowen finds out that Jeremy has read Verity’s manuscript and ran Verity into the tree. You can understand his actions, but any normal persons would questions him. Is he stable? Most people would take the manuscript and turn the person in, but he wanted her to suffer. Would he pull this kind of behavior again? You want to think the best of him because Colleen wrote him SO WELL into this book, but I question him. Then we come to Verity’s letter. She says it was a writing exercise. 1.) why wouldn’t you try to explain that to Jeremy even after the crash; 2.) why did she keep the manuscript? So many questions, but the only one I want to know the answer to is: did she or did she not do what is in the manuscript?...more
