My favorite part was when Amir and his father went to the bar after Amir graduated from community college. I don't know why I just thought it was funny! His father just lets loose and he's just so proud of his son so he just tells everyone about it and buys everyone drinks and he just seems so happy! I love how happy he is, especially because of the rough go they had, running away from their home, practically being chased out by the Soviet Union. And him having to run the gas station, it just seems he's trying to have a good life still and it's just hard, so at the bar he's just so happy and it's just great!

My least favorite part was when Amir comes home to San Fransisco after getting his nephew Sohrab and Amir and his wife are at dinner with her parents. Her father is calling Sohrab a "Hazara Boy" and just being super rude and judgemental about it and I just didn't like it at all! But it's okay because Amir steps in and stands up for Sohrab.

Quotes-
"When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal a wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness. There is no act more wretched than stealing." I really liked this quote because it was a pretty big part with the story with Hassan and Amir, and what happened to Hassan while he was running to get the kite. I think the guilt Amir had was probably due to this quote that his father shared with him.

"For you, a thousand times over." This quote is just so sweet! Hassan says it to Amir at the very beginning as he was running to chase down the kite and Amir says it to Sohrab and the end of the story as he was chasing down the kite for Sohrab. It's just so sweet and ties everything together I think.

I highly recommend this book! It was so interesting and I never got tired of reading it. The story line is intriguing, and so touching. I would suggest reading it twice, just in case you miss something! Because when I read it, I would miss things but when I read it a second time I read things I didn't before and it made the book just that much better! It really was a great book. ...more "
