"The unhinged messages I am sending Alison because of this book, I love it" May 05, 2026 10:13AM

"Well, I like to make butter and I like to patch quilts. And cook, and sew, and spin. Boys can't do that. But even if I be a girl, I can drop potatoes and sow carrots and drive horses as well as you can." "You can't whistle on a grass ...more

“NO reader has ANY obligation to an author, whether it be to leave a review or to write a "constructive" one. I put out a product. You are consumers of that product. “I don't deserve any credit for turning the other cheek as my tongue is always in it.”
Flannery O'Connor, The Habit of Being: Letters of Flannery O'Connor

David Nicholls
“She glanced at the other diners, all of them going into their act, and thought is this what it all boils down to? Romantic love, is this all it is, a talent show?”
David Nicholls, One Day
