The book itself is very interesting because is about how they would treat different color people and how they would treat them for the fact that they were different color. But throughout the book there a lot of segregation for the fact that they were different color and how they are never at home. In this book the women are never there they are always house to house and is sad how they would never really go home. But on of the main character Mabley is trying to teach Aibileen the fact that she has civil rights and the right to equality. But then again mabley has self a steam problem so she couldn't really control herself throughout the book but there were times.

The book took place in Jackson Mississippi it begins in august 1962 and skeeter teams up with minny and aibileen to form a team of black maids. The book illustrates civil disobedience which the maids were doing because they did not like to be treated the way that they were such as they could not use the bathroom when they were in the house. Throughout the book the author really did put an idea where it would set place and how the climate and other part of the weather would look or feel like. Authors voice was like any other author I mean is not like you can here but the texture work and the structure of the story and how it was trying to prove her point throughout the story. I liked how they author wrote the story and how she was very specific and precise with what point she was trying to prove especially the whole theme of the book.

Yeah I would feel like they would be real characters because how black people act today and how they act know is like they just never change at all they all have that attitude and in the book they also have attitude. I don’t really like the characters but then again I do because it really takes a lot of nerve being a black maid that has to take a lot orders and when they get asked to and they don’t really have an option to say no. Black maids back then didn't really benefit in nothing when they would work, white people that lived in the house wouldn’t even let then use the bathroom if they had to. In the book black maid thought that this was to wrong and how they couldn’t do nothing in the house unless the white people the who owned the house would say yes or no.

It really doesn’t compare to the world now in day because their isn’t so much segregation like their was back then and people are more conscious on what they say or do and they try not to do something racist. I could really imagine the setting if i would close my eyes and I would imagine like old ladies with long dresses and with big round hats and young ladies with dresses and they would take care of their hair a lot. I think that the streets would look really clean and when you would pass through the streets you could look into the stores and most likely look at books or cosmetics.

Skeeter a young white lady that interviews aibileen a black maid to see how the white people that she works for treat her and how the job goes by and what benefits does she has. She interviews her to see what she can do in the house and what she can’t do and what skeeter ends up doing is writing a book that tells the story of the maid that has gone through a lot and the problem that she has to face in her daily job. Skeeter ends up publishing this book that she writes about the blacks maids story’s what they have to face to keep their jobs and the requirements that they have and what they ?could not do at any time.
From my perspective I truly recommend this book because the structure of the book all adds up and then ending its just a perfect finishing touch. What I really thought about this book was activis move because I found interesting how a white young lady helped the black maids and gave them courage to stand up for themselves for what they thought was wrong. From how I see this book I would really recommend it to the people that really have a strong passion on segregation and that equality does exist and no one should feel discriminated in any way. ...more "
