Tom is a boy in a catholic school. His best friend is Jeff. He always hangs out with him. He doesn't trust Jeff enough so he doesn't tells him everything, only a few things. He has a crush on Courtney Zisky, no one knows. Courtney is a girl from his class. He loves her a lot, but she doesn't knows a lot of Tom. Tom dreams with her. He thinks he has super powers and that he is a super hero in his dreams. He dreams that he saves her life many times and that she is very thankful. One day the teacher makes an announcement, she says they would have a new classmate. She feels insecure of talking about this. She need to say something else. The teacher tells them something more of the new girl. She says that the new girl has being in a fire and that she is all burned. She is going to that school because the hospital is near. They need a hospital to make the burning treatments.

For Friday 25th 2012

That day the new girl came. Her name is Jessica, when she enters everyone is shocked. Her burns are worst than the worst burns Tom had imagined. Every one is quiet and amazed. They are sitting in rows in the class. Tom is the first in the first row and Jessica is sat first of the second row. Some day she doesn't comes or she comes late. One day they where praying and Tom had to give his hand to Jessica, he did. But Jeff refused to hold her hand and she felt very bad about this. The teacher told Jeff to give her his hand but he didn't. The teacher got a little mad but didn't said anything. Since that day she never came back for the prayers. Tom felt something for her, he always defend her. For example one day he had to tell them he loved Courtney to make them stop talking bad about her. Tom is very nice for this, he hates when people talks bad about her.

One day it was going to be a long weekend. Jeff invited Tom to his house Friday after school. Tom was mad at Jeff for talking bad of Jessica. He invented he had a church thing so he couldn't go. Then a teacher called Tom after school and told him that if he could take the math homework to Jessica. She asked him because they where neighbors. Jeff noticed this and he was very mad because he saw the church thing was just an excuse. When he got to Jessica's house he saw her father. He introduced himself and said why he was there. Then Jessica came down and Tom told him the assignment and everything. Then they talked a lot about everything. They talked of superpowers of the math homework. They had a good time and then Tom went down alone. On the way down Jessica's father started talking to him. He told him how the incident happened and many doubts everyone had. Karana spends the summer waiting for the ship to come. The ship doesn't come and winter is coming. Karana gives up her hope. She became lonlier and lonlier. A storms come to the island. When the storm stops she decides she is taking a canoe and going to some place near. She can't be alone more time. She is not scared. She rather risk her life than being alone for much more time. Karana packs her important things and go. By sunset, the Island of the Blue Dolphins is out of sight. Karana uses stars to navigate. All is good but then she discovers a leak in the boat. She tries to fix it but its very difficult. The leak gets worse so she decide to go back to the island. On the way back the climate helps and she sees some dolphins and gets happy. The dolphins took her to the beach.

Spring comes so then Karana starts her devilfish hunt again. Rontu did not came to hunt with Karana, Karana went alone. Karana feels a little lonely without Rontu, she also thinks of some things. She wonders if Rontu will rejoin the other dogs. She promesses herself she won't hurt him even though he rejoins the dogs. Karana could not hunt the devilfish so she went back. When she is coming back she hears some dogs fighting. She followed the tracks and found the dogs. Rontu was at the middle of the circle surrounded by dogs. They started fighting until they start blooding. Rontu fights 2 dogs. He fights the new leader and another dog. He injures one of the dog. The second dog comes and bits him in the throat. They roll around the floor and fight. Then Rontu wins the fight.

Karana doesn't want to leave her house anymore because she is very sad. She decides to catch another friend dog. He sees one that has big yellow eyes. She is sure that is Rontu's son. She tries many things to catch him but she can't. Finally she give them like a water called xuchal, which is made from ground-up sea shells and wild tobacco. She putted this substance in the dog's springs. All the dogs fall asleep and she picks up little Rontu. Then she takes little Rontu to her house. She ties this dog to the fence and he howls all the night until he falls asleep. Then they become friends. She names him Rontu Aru, which means son of Rontu. They do things together like fishing and boating. Then Karana starts thinking a lot of Ulape and Tutok. Sometime she hears their voices in the wind. ...more "
