"I can’t seem to put this book down… it’s intriguing… devney’s writing style has always been easy breezy to read and it remains in this fantasy style! The build up is long which is in my opinion good for a fantasy world building. I like Odessa so much !! Strong female character without being the obvious!" Apr 08, 2026 12:35AM

"“From among the battle-hardened youth there shall rise the foretold,”
“The greatest Emperor, scourge of our enemies, commander of a host most devastating. And the Empire shall be mad whole.
Hmmm I have my predictions which I guess will not be how it will go 😅but hey a girl can dream 💭
So far I adore the writing style it’s duo point of view, Always a win to see the story from multiple sides"

“Don’t let thoughts of me hold you back. Just do what you want to do. Otherwise, I might end up taking you with me, and that is the one thing I don’t want to do. I don’t want to interfere with your life.”
Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

“They are called, "SELF-worth" and "SELF-esteem" for a reason... we can't let others decide what we are worth, that is so dangerous! Empower yourself!”
Jaeda DeWalt

“The sense of tragedy - according to Aristotle - comes, ironically enough, not from the protagonist's weak points but from his good qualities. Do you know what I'm getting at? People are drawn deeper into tragedy not by their defects but by their virtues. Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex being a great example. Oedipus is drawn into tragedy not because of laziness or stupidity, but because of his courage and honesty. So an inevitable irony results.

[But] we accept irony through a device called metaphor. And through that we grow and become deeper human beings.”
Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore

“You let something out of the bag before yourself knew what it was all about”
