"I don’t like that he reaches his goal of walking. I wanted to see a character heal and learn to accept being in the chair. It feels kind of mean that the his happiness is dependent on being outside of the chair. I wanted to see him realise that he doesn’t have to be a warrior to have a fulfilling life but the book is only slightly interested in that.
