This book is not a parody, people may be skeptical about reading this because it might ruin the Star Wars aspect but the execution of the language is so perfect that it keeps all the elements of Star Wars but with Shakespeare’s genius. Reader beware this story is for audiences of specific tastes.

Ian Doescher is an American writer who is from Portland Oregon. Ian is a very well educated guy. He is a very well educated man, he has a B. A. and a masters from Yale. In literature he is really only known for his remakes of the Star Wars trilogy. He writes in science fiction- fantasy with a unique sense of humor that is found in the dialect he uses.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like reading Shakespeare’s books... like at all.. they bore me. But I took a leap with this one because this time I understood the content, but the language was pretty funny. Even though there’s more than a little dramatic irony it still keeps the basis of the movie. When Shakespeare’s dialogue gets added to an action packed adventure story like Star Wars it enhances the humor. Every time R2’s lines come up I laugh at my self because I read aloud. R2 always says a string of meeps or beeps because that’s what he says in the movie obviously. He kept Han Solos arrogance, he kept Luke’s leadership, and he kept Leah’s fierceness even when using Shakespeare’s tone.
His style is classical but fun, formal but fierce, and playful but aggressive. He altered his punctuation to the mood and intensity of the Star Wars action. And he kept C3PO a wuss, which was great. The events in Star Wars are faithfully adapted into appropriate verse and Shakespearean language. What could have been a horrible try was instead a well executed and perfectly humorous tribute to the trilogy and to Shakespeare. Reading Vader’s lines like “I find thy lack of faith disturbing.” gives fans a giggle because none of us expect this dialect out of a supreme leader of the dark side.
Star Wars is a science fiction fantasy movie that takes place in very foreign areas. There are humans but there are also beings that are human like but are extraterrestrial. Elements like the force and tools like light sabers and hyper space give the story uniqueness that no other director has thought of. This trilogy is revolutionary in science fiction and Star Trek is definitely not cooler. ...more "
