I don't understand why most people think they deserve heaven. The gospel that is preached today is not the true gospel. The cost of discipleship is missing in most of the "alter calls" today. which might explain why, when trial hits and suffering comes as a result of someone's decision to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, they turn away, turn back to their retrobate life falsely believing because they were baptized or confirmed they've earned or somehow learned a sure way into the presence of everlasting life. So many have seen the dark side of the man behind the wooden box, the hypocrisy crimes and lies and because they do not have a firm foundation in the truth of the word of God, they do not have a real relationship with their savior Jesus Christ, they quickly turn their back on walking with Yahweh and their savior, Jesus the Messiah, the only way to heaven.
Matthew 7:21-24 KJVS
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Knowledge and acknowledgment is the first step, it is not the conclusive step.
It's not about professing with the mouth true belief is always evidenced by right behavior with pure motive. This combination of Godly living can only come as a result I'll be coming born again, from a true saving RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ.
