"Haven't had much time to read. Lexi still needs to give me that book! Other than that, only the tension between the sisters has grown. I don't really have many favorite new characters yet but I like Briarlight a lot! I personally would not recommend this book to people who enjoy small and fine details some books offer to readers. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy easy reads along with people who have a love for Lew Carroll's Alice and Wonderland book.

The Prologue of the story begins with a girl and a man introducing the story of "Alice's Adventures Underground", you can then assume the girl is instantly Alice if you've read or know anything about Alice in Wonderland. She seems upset by what is written inside of the book and tells the man she never wants to see him again before leaving.

Once the first chapter of the story begins you then find out that Wonderland is actually split up into sections of regions where 'Wonderlanders' live in. The main protagonist's residence is in Wondertropolis and her mother seems to be the Queen of Wondertropolis. It starts out with the basic introduction to the settings and a few characters before locating the true main protagonist, Princess Alyss Heart, who seems to be celebrating her 7th birthday. If you've read enough fantasy books and seen just enough darn Twilight movies, you can already figure out something bad is going to happen on Alyss' birthday. After a brief introduction with most of the characters, Alyss escapes the castle a bit with her commoner friend, Dodge Anders, before her birthday party starts. Alyss' tutor nearly catches up to them, meaning they would get in trouble before Alyss and Dodge panic and somehow escape the keen hearing tutor and sneaked back into the castle only to pick up a kitten Alyss had found with the words, "Happy Birthday" on a ribbon around it's neck. Once the birthday party begins, all hell breaks loose and it appears the once innocent kitten was actually Queen Genevieve's sister's hired assassin to kill the Queen and Princess so that Redd could forcefully take the throne for herself. As if that wasn't bad enough, the Queen was informed by Redd that her husband had been killed before he made it back home. ...more "
