"I've been pleasantly surprised with the details introduced in this book. Sarah Bakewell has done an excellent job at demonstrating not only Montaigne's likeness, but also what it was like to live in France during this time period. It really places the reader into the setting." — Jan 09, 2018 07:53PM

"This book is relatively good so far. I'll need to read more to determine my full opinion.
Some of the suggestions here seem a bit far-fetched but I understand (and agree with) the overall goals. Perhaps my job just makes this more difficult than others.
Looking forward to learning more!" — Jan 09, 2018 07:49PM
