This book nurtured tremendous empathy for the plight of the deaf and hard of hearing community and culture. What ignorant assumptions we make about them due to our ignorance. We should all be exposed to more information and education on the deaf as children, in order to avoid discriminating and having a more educated understanding of how they are exactly like the hearing world, with the exception of their hearing.
