"up to page 92 and the descriptions of the author's sex with young boys has gotten graphic. Well he said he was writing pornography. It's so banal really it's hard to continue. I suspect the Internet that now provides the full spectrum of sexual possibilities has rendered this work to the quaint category." — Oct 20, 2015 11:40AM

"'Fraid I bogged down at some point, maybe it was the early part, all famila, I did read something by Don Bachardy which filled in the LA years nicely. "This is a slender book and actually a recounting of Gide's friendship with Wilde at their infrequent meetings. Curiously, the meeting in Baskra, Algeria, is shortened considerably from Gide's auto-bio and neglects to mention the night Gide and Wilde procured the companionship of two boys for the night. Gide at the time of this writing had grown more circumspect so I anticipate no further revelations." — Oct 01, 2015 10:40AM
