I never did. It was all too controlled, too bloodless.
Not one of her best. The switching POV is tricky for a very, very good writer, but Ephron is a good writer who's not up to the challenge. The switching point of view first person narrative gets confusing, and while I don't expect the characters to be likable or sympathetic, I'd at least like them to be interesting. I ended up hating all of these people equally. I expect better from Ephron than this self- indulgent tale of spoiled yuppies in a two bit Italian tourist town.
