It was hard for me to decide on a rating at first. I don’t know it just didn’t feel like a five star towards the end mainly because i there was a lot of build up to a certain moment and it didn’t really shock me as much as it was preparing to do. I don’t think that’s really the books fault though because I’ve been watching horror movies and listening to/ reading detailed true crime docs since i was about 13 so it would take quite a lot more to really get any form of fear out of me than it would most other people. The book was definitely so much more that just that plot-line so i’m honestly not even slightly upset by its unraveling.

The Diviners’ was just perfect in a way. The writing, the characters and their development, the multiple intertwined plots and perspectives that were slowly intertwined in such a smooth manner was truly a masterpiece. Every single character had a very distinct personality and i honesty loved every single person Libby Bray created. I believe it is much easier to create realistic and relatable characters you can get attached to when a story is set in the 20th century but these character were teenagers in the 20’s. Evie and Theta were both very fashionable and i found that whole aspect very interesting, right from the bobbed hair to their utter fascination and focus on different stockings. It was very refreshing to read a never set before the upcoming technology. If i continue writing and describing everything i loved about this book this rework would be 5 pages long but i don’t want to bore people to death. All that has to be known and said it that this is a stylish book set in New York IN THE 20’S(🤩) with the best set of characters that really feel like real life people.
