"Dracula's Guest (Bram Stoker) -- an interesting tale that, upon further research, seems to have stumped historians and scholars in its purpose and place among Stoker's work. It's a short little thing, only about 12 pages long, and uses weather and curiosity as its main drivers. It is so brief that I see why many argue it was not created to be a stand-alone. The mood was perfect for a dark fall/winter read.
