I have never understood how people can blithely disregard the damage they do by following their hearts. Who was it said that following your heart is a good thing? It is pure egotism, a selfishness to conquer all.

I find this statement interesting because this is something I have thought about, as well. We are told to follow our hearts no matter what....but for me, I don’t think that is always the best choice. Sometimes the damage caused by following your heart is far worse than not following though at all. At what point are you just being selfish in a careless way?
