It has been about a year since I read this book for the first time. This time around, I decided to try the Audiobook. It was amazing. Even though my reading taste have changed significantly, this is still a five start book!

It has been about a year since I read this book for the first time. This time around, I decided to try the Audiobook. It was amazing. Even though my reading taste have changed significantly, this is still a five start book!

First off, the writing style of this book blew my mind. It has you intrigued and questioning yourself along with Juliette. The way her mind works, the way she describes things, and the way she would describe herself only added to how amazing the book was.

I am personally a giant fan of instlalove romances, and sappy-like romances. I know there are people who do not like that, and I would still say this book is good for them as well. The romance does not take over the book, but helps farther the plot.

During my first read, Adam was the knight in not so shiny armer. Now after reading all of the shatter me books, I will never look at him the same way again. I see the beginning for what is is, and I see how his character was set up in small way for the book that followed. His role in book one was perfect. He is set up in every way to be the man on top, and throughout the series his character development is a truly something I would not have saw coming.

I remember how I felt about Warner the first time I read the book. I HATED him with every fiber of my being. The way he offered her fresh food, nice dresses, and the privilege to stand beside him. I wanted him dead. I wanted Adam and Juliette as far away as possible from that power hungry monster. Now I look back at him in awe. I love him. All of his sassy moments, the way he pushed boundaries Juliette hated, and the way he knew how to get under everyones skin but still remain in charge. As a first time reader I loved my hate for him, but now I just love him.

Juliet is a character you are not meant to figure out. I wonder if she is insane the entire book. Is it because of her power or because of her past. she goes through so much and as much as she grows throughout the seasons, a strong part of me will alway miss Juliet from the first book.

Towards the very end of the book we see how Juliette has become so attached to Adam, and I do not hate that because that is how a first love is. Adam and Juliette never want to be out of each others sight, they are always touching, constantly asking about the other. Because I have completely the series, I know how things end and it is very hard to keep my opinion focused on this first book alone. ...more "
