The book itself wasn't bad at all, it was basically about the story of Lemuel Gulliver. Gulliver is a Englishman who has studied to be a surgeon, but when his business fail he head out to the seas, not really a emotional story. His adventures begin in Lilliput, where he wake sup after crashing his ship. As he wakes up he begins to freak out due to the fact that he was tied down by tiny threads. And what's even crazier is he was approached by little tiny people. The little guys are in awe of him but definitely protective of their land. But overall they were very hospitable, they took in Guliver and fed him, even though he eats as much as about one thousand little guys. After he is presented to the emperor, Gulliver now becomes part of the army, guaranteeing victory. It all seems good until Gulliver becomes convicted of treason for putting out a fire in the royal palace with his urine. So now the emperor wants him to be shot in the eyes and wants him to be starved to death. When Gulliver finds out he tries to escape immediately, so he escapes to Blefuscu, where he repairs his boat and heads toward England. He stays in England with his family for two months, then leaves and ends up in Brobdingnag. This time he gets discovered by a field worker, who keeps him for amusement. But after a while he get tired of him and sells him to the queen, the queen as well keeps him for amusement due to him musical talent. But on a trip to the frontier and Eagle plucks up his cage and drops him in the sea. So he sets sail once again this time after being attacked by pirates he ends up in Laputa. He visited many places such as Glubbdubdrib, Luggnaggians, and Struldbrugs. And on his last journey he sets sail this time as a captain of his ship. After a long ride he ends up in a unknown land. this land was filled with rational-thinking horse who rule and Yahoos. Too bad he didn't fit in so he was banished. So then he gets picked up by a Portuguese ship, where he becomes a captain as well. So in conclusion he questions colonialism. I felt like this book gave you the unexpected right when you begin to settle down and become interested n his journey then boom its a different journey and different twist....more
