“The Starship Ceu is too far out for communication with the Planetary Council back home. Though, if he's honest with himself, Taylor knows they wouldn't be able to help even if they could be reached. As of now, only his crew and those aboard the Starship Ceu are aware of this monumental discovery. Their next step could change the course of human history.”

“The Goblin Shark isn’t the first ship that Reznik has sailed on—far from it. Ever since he picked himself up out of the dirt of the Badlands and walked out to the Red Ocean near the island of Sudrabi, he never looked back. His life had been a constant procession of new ships ever since. Some he takes by force, like The Goblin Shark. Some of them take him on as crew, but all of these have discovered very quickly that they made a mistake”

“Someone was hunting a boar, likely this person who freed the slaves and took the younger ones. The prints are from one of the adolescents, most likely male. A hunter, but young. This boar will lead the hunter back to this adolescent's home, if he's right, his bounty will be there too.”
Julian Fernandes, The Hunter and His Hounds

“The fear is strong in citizens of the Planetary Council, a population that is scattered throughout the earth in various self-sufficient Mega Cities like this one.
The young woman takes a quick peek down at her hand. The black ball holding the valuable data is so inconspicuous, but so blatantly dangerous. It is the information she needs to get her family out of the Point. The day of escape is coming.”

“As you know, a small vessel was brought in from an outer-zone construction site. They seem to be of a new civilization, with a mix of old and new technologies. This occurence is only the start of more to come. Kame, what would you do about the new trespassers?"
Jackie smiles at Kyo's wisdom, putting his potential replacement to the test.
Kame takes a second to think it over. She answers confidently, like a leader. "I would try to negotiate a way to absorb them into our culture and offer them a way to be happy without leaving. Keeping the Nation secret is the top priority of the people. This would suit both sides."
Kyo smiles. Negotiations rarely work that way. "And if they refuse?"
Kame replies quickly. "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.”
