As a child Amy loved reading and writing, so naturally she graduated with a degree in biomedical science and has worked in a microbiology laboratory ever since. Her passion is writing, however, and she turned back to it during her years at university. When she is not writing about surviving apocalypses, vampires feeding on the rich, exploring space, and conquering magic--all celebrating queer love-- she can be found reading or playing games about those very things.

She lives by the sea with her wife and their eighteen year old cat, who still runs around like a kitten.

Amy is the author of the VAMPIRES trilogy WE'RE ALL MONSTERS HERE and SHOW ME YOUR TEETH, with book three due 2025, and the SURVIVORS duology, SURVIVORS and THE SAFE ZONE. She h

I read book 1 a while ago, and I don't know why I waited so long to read this. I enjoyed it!

I like Isoka and her growth. I remember finding it really hard to root for her at the beginning of book 1, but she's continuing to develop into a good leader

The setting was brilliant—richly atmospheric, capturing the haunting beauty of Orkney. What truly hooked me, however, was Haera’s dialogue. It takes a skilled author to render a character learning both language and the nuances of being human a" Read more of this review »

3.5 stars rounded up. This was fine. I liked Aurelia best; she had the most depth by far. Certainty, the MC, was pretty bland in comparison.

However, reading this (and Legends and Lattes, and Can't Spell Treason Without Tea), I've realised cosy fantas

3.5 stars rounded up. I enjoyed the world building, which was detailed for a novella, and I enjoyed Agnir's and Hadhnri's romance. The writing itself was good, too.

Two things stopped me from rating this higher, however. The first is that while the wr

One of the easiest 5 stars I've ever given. I loved everything about this, no notes. It's been a long time since a book kept me from going to bed, but this did!

The characters were engaging, and I loved Nix's and Kessandra's relationship. The action a

“Money, money, money. You PC pricks are all about the money, aren't you?"
Jensen frowned at the casual way she lumped him in with the rest of the bastards who worked for the Planetary Council. Which he technically also did. But it wasn't like he'd had a choice. One didn't turn down becoming a shadow agent. Not if you wanted to keep on breathing.”
