Context: The prince saying this was just served his personal guard's head on a platter because he had them try and steal from the monarch he was sent to negotiate with. Even after being served the head, he continued to piss off the monarch so much that Riorson and Violet had to kill 10 guards to save his life and get him out.
Literally the only reason this quote was included in the book was so that we would be even more pissed at him. Instead, it was so blatant of a play by Yarros that it just made me pissed at her.
