Elise Elise said: " good last book! best yet

Best one-yet. The series I think, really advanced in its fleshing out of the Bowditch character. Mike matures and the storyline improved. The first book the Poachers son did not quit catch me. But I kept reading all 16!

Beth Moran
“Had we known then what New Year would bring, would we have been determined to laugh more? Would we have paused more often to wonder, gaze at the stars, make each moment of her last December sacred? Or would every greeting and farewell, each frosty breath, have been coloured bittersweet, tainted with aching yearning for what could not be? Is it better to know? To have the opportunity to live your final winter certain it will be your last? Or is there blessing in a swift goodbye?”
Beth Moran, ‎ Because You Loved Me

“Jack gave a shrug. ‘You knew what you needed. This place obviously felt right when you came here, so you did what you had to do. Other people may have our best interests at heart but, in the end, these important decisions have to be our own and we know what feels right.”
Maxine Morrey, You Only Live Once

“the sky had cleared, and the sun swelled bright and warm in the western sky. Water from the melting snow dropped like strings of glass beads from the eaves of the house and melted holes in the snow on the ground. The sound of running water through the outside drainpipes sounded like music to Joe.”
C.J. Box, Winterkill

Sarah Pearse
“still need to work on. Being happy on my own.”
Sarah Pearse, The Wilds
