I have been currently reading the novel, P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. This is the sequel novel to the All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series. I noticed that the book ending to All The Boys I’ve Loved Before was different than the movie ending. I loved the book ending more because it left off on a cliff hanger with Lara
Jean, the main character, writing a note to Peter. The reader did not know what was in the note until they started the second novel. In the movie version, they ended up staying together at the end. One other part that I really like in the second novel is getting to see more of Lara’s and Peter’s relationship and how it goes from one extreme to the other. Typically, movies like to end in a happy ever after sort of way, however, that is not always the case. For example, Peter and Lara can be discussing a topic and something can go wrong. In the novel, Lara is trying to figure out who spread a video of Peter and her doing things. That created some conflict in their relationship because Peter was sticking up for his old girlfriend. This showed how their relationship has gone from one extreme to another, quickly. Overall, I am so far enjoying this novel and I am curious to see what happens in the end.
Review 2:
I have almost finished the novel, P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han. What I have liked about this novel so far is how you get to see the background story of Genevive and Lara. They had a time capsule buried in Lara Jean’s backyard and when they graduated high school, they were planning on digging it up. Something came up till were they had to dig it up early. This showed why I really liked this scene because it showed how close they once were. Additionally, I liked how I got to see another letter from John, someone who she used to like. John sent her a letter and told her how he got that letter that she sent him. It made the reader seem curious about what was going on between them. Peter seems very protective of her when she brings up his name. John ended up moving away and I think that is why they do not speak as often. One thing I wish that the author would elaborate more on is their family. The reader does not get as much information about Margot, Kitty, and her father throughout this book. In the first novel of the series, the reader knew a lot more about these characters. Overall, I think the first book in this series is the best so far. ...more "
