I enjoyed Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys because it has a lot of tension and makes you want to know what happens in the following chapter. It also got me mad at some of the characters which sometimes is a good thing for example not everyone in the sI enjoyed Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys because it has a lot of tension and makes you want to know what happens in the following chapter. It also got me mad at some of the characters which sometimes is a good thing for example not everyone in the story could live because then it wouldn’t be as good to show how much bad stuff happened in WWII. This story is about 4 people that are all in the same situation but all have different backgrounds. Florian worked for Dr. Lange and Gauleiter Koch which had a dark secret that Florian had the key too. Joana was a latvian nurse that had an advantage to get on the boat that was assumed to be “a ship that promises safety and freedom. But not all promises can be keeped” and Emilia is an innocent 15 year old girl that boards the ship scared to give birth but doesn't know that much worse was going to happen. Lastly Alfred is a sailor on the Wilhelm Gustloff saving people from dying but doesn't realize that he himself is in danger....more
