This book is narrated by Nick, who lives next to a man named Jay Gatsby. Nick is invited to one of Gatsby's parties, and he accepts. Gatsby has an amazing house in West Egg, and Nick lives in a small shack next to him. When at the party, Nick finally meets Gatsby. He describes Gatsby in a very sensual way, like his glowing smile. Nick soon finds out that Gatsby is being very kind to him because he needs a favor. The favor was to get Daisy, a beautiful girl who Gatsby loves, to come over for tea, and for Gatsby to "accidentally" run into her. Nick says he will do it, and the plan goes accordingly. Gatsby and Daisy are very awkward at first, but soon warm up to each other and are soon deep in love with each other. This is not taken well by Daisy's husband, Tom Buchanan. Gatsby continues to have numerous parties at his house, which Daisy attends. Their love for each other grows and grows as they are with each other. Noticing this, Tom decides to step into it, and he tells everyone that they should go into the city. Gatsby and Daisy drive up together in the Blue car, and Tom is in the yellow car. While they are in the city, Tom tells Gatsby that Daisy doesn't love her. Gatsby denies this, and things get heated. They argue about Daisy and who she loves. This argument ends in Tom telling Gatsby to take Daisy back to West Egg, in Gatsby's yellow car. As Gatsby and Daisy are on their way back, Myrtle was distraught after a fight with her husband, Wilson. She sees the yellow car, and thinks it is Tom coming. Out of desperation, she runs into the street to try to stop Tom. However, Daisy does not see Myrtle and Daisy hits her, killing her. Tom, angry at Gatsby, soon told Wilson that the car that killed his wife was owned by none other than Gatsby. Incensed, Wilson goes to Gatsby's mansion, where he is swimming in his pool. Wilson sees him and shoots him in the head, killing him instantly. Wilson soon turns the gun on himself, because he thinks there is no point without his wife. Everyone left then moved back East, where every character originated from.

I think there were a lot of aspects about this book that worked amazingly. I think that it worked well that you could view this story through so many different views and have different thoughts on every view. I also think that throughout the book, there was nothing that made me want to stop reading. Every chapter had something big happen, and I really like that, because I get bored of slow books easily.

There is not much that I think did not work too well in the story. The only thing that I did not truly like about the story was the ending. I think that Gatsby and Wilson both dying at the end is kind of anticlimactic, as the whole story is based around Gatsby and Daisy's love. I think it would have been a better ending if Gatsby and Daisy were able to flee West Egg together, or something along those lines. ...more "
