"I liked the book because it was a teenage girl around my age telling a story. It was relatable and I thought it was overall a good book. The format helped me to understand themes because it helped me see Xiomara’s perspective on the world. I recommend this book to teens, mostly girls, because she explains the thoughts and feelings of girls." — Dec 02, 2019 05:04AM

"The book was very repetitive. It also takes a while for the story to get going. The ending of the story is rushed. There really wasn’t a lot of detail, it was very vague. But, the way the author creates the sisters lives is interesting. They deal with their neglectful home differently. I connected this to the theme of negative role models. Both parents are drug addicts. Dad left the family. Mom also had no money." — Oct 24, 2019 10:28AM
