"The past two chapters were a bit dull. Saramago went more general, doing a bit of world-building, but in doing so became very flowery in his prose and vague. I was much more interested once the narrative returned back to the characters, though their dynamics are beginning to read more as expository. Hopefully this is just a dip and will improve. It just felt too distant from the story." — Dec 04, 2018 09:16PM
