Do you like to read science fiction book that are a scavenger hunt and have great allusions to the 80s pop culture? Then Ready Player One would be a really great book for you. It is a fast paced book that is alway moving forward and is always interesting. It is alway leaving you on cliffhangers and is always adding new mysteries that you want to solve with him. But you never really know the mystery until the end of the book. The book is about a young adult named Wade Watts. He plays this game called the oasis. The oasis is a free roam game where can do anything thing that you want from fighting zombies to ordering food to your house. But one day James holliday the owner of the game died and in his I’m “dead message” he put out a scavenger hunt of three keys and who ever won got the ownership of the oasis. Everyone went crazy to win the contest. Including Wade Watts. The book take place 5 years after holliday's death. Everyone by that knows a lot about Holiday but the first key has not been found.
This book will take you on a Journey through the oasis it has action drama and great comedy. It has a lot allusions to the 80s pop culture like Wargames and Pacman. The book is really detailed and you alway know whats going on. The book is a good escape from the world today. Everyone needs an escape. Whether it's movies, television, books, or something else, everybody has their own method of getting away from reality for a while. In Ready Player One, the de facto escape around the world become the OASIS, an MMO game so realistic, it's hard to tell it from reality. It sounds both awesome and a little dangerous at the same time, and the book explores what happens when virtual reality loses the "virtual" part, and becomes the main world a person lives in. Hint: nothing good (for the most part). (Ernest Cline)
This is great book with a lot of different and great massages in it and a good story. Also it pretty cheap it's only like 10- 15 bucks depending on where you buy it. There is also a good movie based but the book is ten times better. So I encourage you to go out and buy the book or go to your nearest library and check out this book and read it. ...more "
