"Having just finished Chapter Twenty-Eight, I'm thoroughly enraptured by the story thus far. The plot moves along rather quickly, though slowing down understandably when portraying the sense of isolation and helplessness Harry (as well as the other Hogwarts students) feels with Umbridge taking control over the school. I'm also positively intrigued by the way they revealed the character of James Potter's younger self." — Jan 17, 2019 04:58PM

"Having only read the Introduction, I find myself quite excited to start reading the rest of the book, as it makes very clear in the usual academic manner what to expect from the book as well as what makes philosophy a part of some films. Though the format is dry, as is typical in an Introduction, the content was rather straightforward in explaining the scope in which philosophy does and does not apply to film." — Jan 17, 2019 04:52PM

"Having finished the first chapter, I'm pleased to see the smooth progression of the book insofar as it explains the deeper nature of Misogyny and its expansive subtleties and variation. Manne lays out the foundation for how we examine and explain Misogyny, but does so in a way as if to advance a particular ideology. True to philosophic form, she takes a methodical approach in analyzing the phenomenon macroscopicallly" — Jan 17, 2019 04:43PM
