Conversations on Love is not a love story, it’s many. In this collection of interviews and essays, the author explores the different ways we love: romantic love, familial love, friendship, heartbreak, grief, and the often overlooked art of loving ourselves. It’s thoughtful, tender, and full of moments that made me pause and reflect.

The writing is soooo intimate, almost like you're reading someone’s journal. Natasha Lunn doesn’t try to tie things up neatly, which I appreciated. Love isn’t simple, and this book honors that complexity.

Personal Reflection:
I read this while dealing with the starts of my first relationship, a moment I used to dream about and overthing about the time it would come. But the reality of being in love, of letting someone into your life and your heart for real, is so much more layered than I ever expected. Reading Conversations on Love while navigating this experience felt grounding. Like having a friend quietly remind me that it’s okay not to know how to deal with every situation that could come up.

So much of what this book explores like the fear of vulnerability, the awkwardness of early connection, the beauty of choosing someone again and again even when things feel uncertain... reflected what I was feeling. When you’ve never loved someone romantically before, everything feels like new territory: the tenderness, the doubts, the joy, the ache of missing someone, the intensity of always wanting to be with the other person. This book helped me feel less overwhelmed by that newness. It reminded me that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be real or worth it.

There’s this part where someone talks about how love isn’t about always knowing the right thing to say or do, but about showing up, especially when it’s hard. That really stayed with me. Because even though we’re still figuring out how to love each other, how to communicate better, how to handle distance... what matters is that we’re trying and we are being there for each other when there are doubts or insecurities.

Conversations on Love taught me that love is a practice. A choice. A commitment. And for someone who’s only just learning what it means to be chosen and to choose, that lesson meant everything.
