"Marian was able to escape her abusive childhood home and in a hospital she later met Romney who treated her kindly which lead her to believing in God because of his kindness. When she worked as a seamstress, she tried to be just as a kind as him.

I think Romney is generally a good guy, however, he has that Victorian view of women and femininity which is what a friend of mine would call "benevolent sexism.""

Emily Brontë
“Forget your anger, for she’s hard to guide any way but her own.”
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

Augustine of Hippo
“They were angry with their Lord in behalf of their idols, they who even if they were angry with their slave on their idol's account, were to be condemned. For their slave was better than their idol: for God made their slave, the carpenter made their idol. They were so angry in their idol's behalf, that they feared not to be angry with their Lord.”
Augustine of Hippo, The Complete Works of Saint Augustine: The Confessions, On Grace and Free Will, The City of God, On Christian Doctrine, Expositions on the Book Of Psalms, ...

Emily Brontë
“Take you with her, pitiful changeling!' I exclaimed. 'YOU marry? Why, the man is mad! or he thinks us fools, every one. And do you imagine that beautiful young lady, that healthy, hearty girl, will tie herself to a little perishing monkey like you? Are you cherishing the notion that anybody, let alone Miss Catherine Linton, would have you for a husband? You want whipping for bringing us in here at all, with your dastardly puling tricks: and - don't look so silly, now! I've a very good mind to shake you severely, for your contemptible treachery, and your imbecile conceit.”
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

Mieko Kawakami
“Because we’re always in pain, we know exactly what it means to hurt somebody else.”
Mieko Kawakami, Heaven

J.R.R. Tolkien
“Faerie cannot be caught in a net of words, for it is one of its qualities to be indescribable, though not imperceptible. It has many ingredients, but analysis will not necessarily discover the secret of the whole.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, On Fairy-Stories
