Ignore the highlights; in these kinds of novels, they are usually accidental. This one really held my interest. I pick up these mysteries and thrillers for pure escape from more "serious" academic and literature reading. Lately I have been relying on Prime Reading books since I spend too much on books. Want to keep my book budget for books I will keep over the long haul. They take my mind far away when I am trying to get to sleep. The setting for this one was very unique, a plus. Character development was good, and the plot kept me guessing. It was almost too engaging, as I would keep myself awake to read on. I am sure a lot of the details about the research station at the sOuth Pole is fictional, but it all sounded very plausible. I would definitely recommend this one.
