I have a serious issue with this. I'm appalled that the word wildlife is being used for a low-income POC neighborhood. This is not great at all. Who the hell approved this. I don't know how anyone would find it appropriate to call POC animals. The Saints (the gang Ricky is in) I'm assuming is a reference to the hells angels and if you want to get technical the hells angels are known for being a racist organization. Ricky being taunted by a POC community for riding through with his biker jacket on as a negative thing blows my mind. Im really disgusted as this excerpt was followed by about of page of the residents on the area calling Ricky a cracker and telling him to get out of their neighborhood. Obviously there are tensions between the Saints (the gang that he's in) and that community. I absolutely HATE that it is written as Ricky is a victim. This really made me question Kelley Armstrong.
