Greensleeves Greensleeves said: " A great and clearly written legal thriller that reminded me of Suits and John Grisham simultaneously. Finished in four days which only says how much I loved it. Definitely would read and recommend Michael Connelly again "

Edith Wharton
“The taste of the usual was like cinders in his mouth, and there were moments when he felt as if he were being buried alive under his future.”
Edith Wharton, The Age of Innocence

Leo Tolstoy
“I always loved you, and if one loves anyone, one loves the whole person, just as they are and not as one would like them to be. -Dolly”
Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenin

Dorothy Parker
“Little Words

When you are gone, there is nor bloom nor leaf,
Nor singing sea at night, nor silver birds;
And I can only stare, and shape my grief
In little words.

I cannot conjure loveliness, to drown
The bitter woe that racks my cords apart.
The weary pen that sets my sorrow down
Feeds at my heart.

There is no mercy in the shifting year,
No beauty wraps me tenderly about.
I turn to little words- so you, my dear,
Can spell them out.”
Dorothy Parker, The Portable Dorothy Parker

Leigh Bardugo
“Yuyeh sesh,” Tolya called after her in Shu.
“Ni weh sesh,” she shouted over her shoulder. And then she was gone.
“What does that mean?”
“It’s something our father taught us,” Tolya replied. “Yuyeh sesh: ‘despise your heart.’ But that’s the direct translation. The real meaning is more like ‘do what needs to be done—be cruel if you have to.’”
“What’s the other part?”
“Ni weh sesh? ‘I have no heart.”
Leigh Bardugo, The Grisha Trilogy

Dorothy Parker
“Oh, gallant was the first love, and glittering and fine;
The second love was water, in a clear white cup;
The third love was his, and the fourth was mine;
And after that, I always get them all mixed up.”
Dorothy Parker, Enough Rope
