This is the third book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series.

This one picks up right where the last one leaves off. You are instantly sucked in to the book. This one is a bit darker and has a bit different style in execution. You get to hear the perspectives of other characters in addition to Evangeline. We get to understand Apollo and Jacks a bit more.

In this book, emotions run high. Stephanie Garber does a great job giving emotion to the reader and helping us understand the situation and the characters. This one has me feeling a bit more angry but there are some very sweet and satisfying moments in this book as well. The conclusion is great but there are still a few questions we are left to ponder for ourselves making us ruminate on this book long after it has ended.

This is the third time I have read this book and I love going back to book one and getting a glimpse of the clues we are given. A fantastic series to reread to understand the story even more.

I do hope we get more series in this world because I have really enjoyed both Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart!

**Overall Themes of the Books***
I love reading these books. It is a series you can pick up, start again and again, and realize you may have missed something from the last time you read it. Stephanie writes so well that you don't even realize the clues she gives are actually clues to the story unless you re-read the book.

World-building and character depth are two amazing strengths of this book. The pace keeps you guessing, and you never know where you're heading from one book to the next.

This enemy-to-lovers story is truly confusing and annoying, making you want to keep reading because you have to know how it ends up! It is all the feelings you would hope for and more in this romantic trope. You feel the emotions and frustrations of the characters as you glide through all the pages — these books are so easy to binge. ...more "
