Stephen Fry
“This is the point. One technology doesn't replace another, it complements. Books are no more threatened by Kindle than stairs by elevators.”

Elayne Too true - I read both - they both have their place and time. A Kindle has the advantage when travelling and holds many books and is easy to add to, but there is nothing quite like a bookshop and holding a physical book or rummaging through the shelves and piles. The smell is wonderful too.

Dana Stabenow It's the best I've ever seen it said. Leave it to Stephen Fry.

Elayne However, I have had to recommend the Kindle for some friends of mine who a: are hard of seeing as they can then increase the font or even listen (badly recorded - that does need serious upgrading); or b: have physical ailments which mean that holding a book is hard and carrying one around in a handbag is even worse. Horses for courses sometimes.
