Status Updates From An Autumn Sowing

Different from my expectations, a bit plodding on the whole, didn’t keep me dying to finish it. Enjoyed it but not enough to keep the book once read as I know I won’t want to read it again. A few interesting characters but not well enough developed to redeem the lack of depth to plot and characters.

This is BRILLIANT...you know when you are reading something that's really really good and that it's going to become a favourite...that you are in the presence of a special book...it's THAT good. And luckily I'm having to read it with gloves a few pages at a time because of stickiness and mildew, so I can't binge on it...

Delightful, especially on clerics and family meals. The author's father and brothers were clerics, like Jane Austen's..so perhaps clerical families can crate writers who are, in contrast, a hoot.
