Status Updates From Going to Meet the Man

Felt quite affected by “Sonny’s Blues” and “Previous Condition” a little scared to keep reading… yet curious…

In 1960 The Atlantic (circulation: 260k/issue) gave Baldwin 30 something pages, not counting ads, to place "This Morning, This Evening, So Soon." Today I guess he'd go to New England Review? N+1? And so a few thousand people in Boston and Brooklyn and San Francisco would read it. Or maybe he chops it up to get it into the New Yorker. But that'd be like Watterson confining himself to three square panels to keep going.
