Status Updates From Dark Water

Dream Cruise 3.5/5 This story started off slow, but I like how it all wrapped up in the end. And I hated Ushijima and Minako, fuck them.

short story 1-floating water: really slow and the outcome was predictable from the moment the author mentioned a water tank.

The Hold: 3.5/5 It was a pretty good story. The MC reminded me of my own asshole japanese father so it had that connection to me. Maybe that made it harder to read for me.

Its good, a collection of short psychological horror stories. I sought the book out after watching the film Dark Waters - the film's storyline is based upon the first short story in this book which is called Floating Water.
I'm finding the psychological horror theme is more effective than supernatural horror as it makes me think, a lot. Good reading so far.

Solitary Isle: 3.5/5 Really interesting story, but the ending wasn’t that big of a payoff compared to the last story in my opinion

Prologue: 5/5 I usually don’t like prologues because I’m a dork, but this one sets up these short stories in an awesome way. Having each story be a tale a grandmother tells her granddaughter to teach her a lesson about water and objects that wash up in it.

Floating Water: 5/5 Woah! What a fucking awesome first story. A bit predictable but all the little details and elements that add up by then make this perfect
