Status Updates From Njal's Saga

It is so cool that a book written so long ago could have such similar pacing to modern stories. Reading this has felt like reading any other book. I see the scenes playing in my head like a movie and it's been so fun. What I've found the most interesting is how much death drives the plot. The anticipation and execution (no pun intended) of the characters' deaths has been wholly captivating.

This book already contains a lot more prose than Egil's saga. I love the descriptions of the characters, that we are told that their nose turns upward or that their hair is like silk. So far I'd say my favorite parts are intricate procedures associated with law practice. It's so cool to see the mechanisms of justice at work in this society.
