I like it a lot. It reminds me a bit of The Stonecutter by Camilla Lackberg the structure and some of the tense character dynamics, especially in the flashbacks.

Okay I need a modern Crime novel - it doesn’t have to be from last week, but something of modern times. The ‘Sea You In September’ reading event is going to steep me in older Mysteries, as well as three Non-Fiction books that came out recently but depicting bygone eras. So now is the time to get jiggly with some Mystery or Thriller from not too long ago. And I am most curious about The Blackhouse.
