Status Updates From Beast

Really bummed. Got thru 1 chapter and just dont think this is for me. I thought the book would be a medieval setting and something similar to the 1st Castles ever after book by Tessa Dare, but instead takes place on a ship. And the first chaoter starts with MMC wanting his mistress so bad wishing she would divorce. Also writing style is kinda tricky for me to understand at times. Gonna DNF, bummed bout this one.

This is interesting. So far, I don't care for any of the characters but they are all fascinating enough to keep me wanting to read more.

Been chipping away at this one via audiobook for awhile now and forgot to log. The first half was a real slog for me, but now that we’re off the ship and Charles is properly trying to romance his wife, I’m invested!

He’s jealous of himself is the best trope. And it’s corollary, she can’t love him because she’s in love with another (him).

The problem with / joy of reading a 30 yo book is the constant 🫣😬 anticipating what any character might do next.
