This is not a world I would want to live in.
“Dark is horror, he shouted, silently, facing the little houses. It is meant for contrast. You must fear, you hear! That has always been the way of this world. You destroyers of Edgar Allan Poe and fine big-worded Lovecraft, you burner of Halloween masks and destroyer of pumpkin jack-o-lanterns!”

Oh well, at least Capt. Hart is a cigar smoker, I’ll give him that much!

In “Zero Hour,” for some reason I picture Harrison Ford and Kate Capshaw as Henry and Mary Morris, Karen Allen as Helen, and the Caroline Kennedy (as a little girl, that is, not the adult version) as Mink.
In “The Man,” Capt. Hart’s attitude reminds me of that the unnamed Capt. in “The Earth Man” story of “The Martian Chronicles,” i.e. naively expecting the inhabitants of another planet to throw him a parade.
Lame!
