4.5/10 If I wanted to read a thesis about the author's fav topics I would have gladly read a nonfiction book by him. I think his writing and way of explanation would work far better if it were more focused and restrained, in The Island of the Day Before with the apparent limitless freedom he has set himself; it feels like he's building towards a very long world-view of his own that feels like homework for the reader.
