The choice to use British slang and regional accents is a negative of this translation. Some characters are given the voices of cockney geezers and it's distracting. And then some names are given that treatment. An earlier translation gives "Stunted Tiger" but here we get "Short Arse". And "Whitey" sounds straight out of a London gangster story.

Onto volume two of this five volume translation of the 120 chapter work. (The Jackson translation I am listening to on Audible ends with chapter 70). There're some interesting differences between them, for example Jackson giving that Lin Chong's servant now lives with her new husband in Lin Chong's house, while this translation says she lives in her new husband's house. I feel this makes more sense story wise.
